While India were always expected to be difficult opponents, Afghanistan would have hoped to put up a stronger challenge, particularly given their experience of playing in Indian conditions. With the series already decided, they will now be looking to finish the tour with a consolation victory.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz has struggled against the new ball and is yet to open his account after two matches. His lack of runs has put additional pressure on Ibrahim Zadran and the middle order. Zadran has shown some positive signs at the top of the order, but Afghanistan will need him to convert his starts into a substantial innings.

Sediqullah Atal and Darwish Rasooli have also lacked consistency. Afghanistan do have considerable batting depth through all-rounders such as Azmatullah Omarzai, Gulbadin Naib and Mohammad Nabi. Omarzai has been particularly impressive with the bat and is currently the team's leading run-scorer.

Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson form a dangerous opening combination and will look to give India another fast start. Abhishek has been particularly impressive and is also the leading run-scorer of the tournament. Ishan Kishan provides another major threat at the top of the order and has been in excellent form in T20 cricket in recent months.

India's strong start with the bat has meant that the middle order has not been required to do too much so far. However, the presence of Tilak Varma and Shreyas Iyer gives the side plenty of batting quality, while Shivam Dube and Axar Patel provide additional depth.

The pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium is expected to offer good conditions for batting. A par score is likely to be around 180, although the team batting first will be aiming for close to 200 given that the surface can become easier to bat on during the second innings.
