AFG vs IND Betting Tips
Afghanistan total runs before fall of 1st wicket over 21.5
Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz are among Afghanistan’s most consistent opening batsmen in this format. The pair have scored at least 22 runs in 4 of their last 5 outings and average 54 as an opening partnership against India. We are therefore backing them to give Afghanistan another strong start.
Ishan Kishan to score over 23.5 runs
Ishan Kishan is India’s leading run-scorer this year, with 812 runs at an average of 35. He has scored at least 24 runs in each of his last 4 innings, including 2 half-centuries. He has also scored a half-century in both of his appearances at this venue, and we are expecting another good knock from him.

AFG vs IND Team Previews
Afghanistan
This is Afghanistan’s first T20 assignment since their disappointing campaign at the 2026 T20 World Cup, where they crashed out during the group stage. Nevertheless, they will look to put that disappointment behind them and make a fresh start here.
Ibrahim Zadran takes over the captaincy from Rashid Khan, who will feature as a regular player. Zadran is an explosive top-order batsman and will open the batting alongside Rahmanullah Gurbaz. The duo will look to give Afghanistan a strong start. The middle order has a familiar look, with Sediqullah Atal and Darwish Rasooli likely to slot in at number 3 and 4 respectively.
Afghanistan’s biggest strength comes from their all-rounders, who can contribute with both bat and ball. Mohammad Nabi was in excellent form in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League and will link up with the squad in Delhi ahead of this match. Azmatullah Omarzai, Gulbadin Naib and Rashid Khan will support him and add valuable batting depth.
Rashid Khan will also lead the spin department alongside Noor Ahmad. Naveen ul-Haq makes a comeback to the shortest format after a gap of almost 2 years and will likely lead the attack with the new ball. Fazalhaq Farooqi will join him at the other end. The spin department is strong as well, thanks to the presence of Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad.
Afghanistan Expected Playing 11
Rahmanullah Gurbaz (WK), Ibrahim Zadran, Sediqullah Atal, Darwish Rasooli, Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai, Gulbadin Naib, Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Naveen ul-Haq

India
After disappointing tours of Ireland and England, India managed to turn things around against Zimbabwe in July and should be feeling confident ahead of this contest.
India has made a few changes to the squad that travelled to Harare, with the biggest being Jasprit Bumrah’s return. He will spearhead the attack with the new ball and will likely be joined by Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh. Rana’s availability is subject to his fitness.
Varun Chakravarthy has also recovered from his injury and will lead the spin department, with Axar Patel likely to support him. Patel is also a capable batsman and adds valuable depth to the batting line-up.
At the top of the order, Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma are likely to open the batting for India. Shreyas Iyer will lead the team in this series and will also be a vital part of the middle order. He will have the support of Tilak Varma, Ishan Kishan and Shivam Dube.
India Expected Playing 11
Sanju Samson (WK), Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, Shreyas Iyer (C), Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana
AFG vs IND Toss Prediction
7 of the last 10 matches played here were won while chasing. The team winning the toss will therefore likely opt to bowl first.
Pitch Report and Weather Conditions
The pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium is likely to offer balanced conditions. The average first-innings score here in the last 10 matches is around 173 runs, and anything over 185 could prove tricky to chase.
The surface is expected to be flat and hard, offering good pace and bounce. The quicker bowlers should also be able to extract some movement off the seam when the ball is new. The weather is expected to remain warm and humid, with rain possible during the afternoon. We could also see some dew as the match progresses, which may make it difficult for the slower bowlers to grip the ball.
AFG vs IND : Who Will Win?
We are backing India to win this match. They are the stronger side and have an excellent record against Afghanistan. Playing at home is another advantage for the hosts.
Bet on India to win.
