Zimbabwe To Win, 1.30

The West Indies has won each of its last three games against Zimbabwe

The venue (Wankhede) is known for big hitting and that is where West Indies can be tough to control

Zimbabwe has been very impressive but we think its batting lacks the depth needed to consistently beat the bigger teams

ZIM vs WI Betting Tips

Highest individual score Over 64.5 runs

The Wankhede Stadium allows the batsmen to play their shots once they settle down. Four of the last seven matches played here have seen at least one individual score of over 64 runs, and we expect that trend to continue.

Blessing Muzarabani to pick up over 1.5 wickets

Blessing Muzarabani is the leading wicket-taker for Zimbabwe in this tournament and has picked up at least 2 wickets in each of his three outings. As the pitch does offer the seamers some assistance when the ball is new, we are backing him to bowl a good spell.

ZIM vs WI Team Previews

Zimbabwe

Not many would have expected Zimbabwe to reach this far in the T20 World Cup, especially after seeing them in the same group as Australia and Sri Lanka. However, the team has put up a remarkable performance so far, remaining unbeaten during the group stages and making it to the Super 8 ahead of Australia.

Brian Bennett has been brilliant at the top of the order, scoring consecutive half-centuries as he heads into this contest. He has been one of the main reasons for Zimbabwe’s ability to put up big scores. He, along with Tadiwanashe Marumani, will look to give the team a brisk start.

The middle order has some capable all-rounders in the form of Ryan Burl and Sikandar Raza, both of whom have chipped in with valuable contributions. However, players like Dion Myers, Tashinga Musekiwa, and Tony Munyonga have remained untested.

The bowling, particularly by the seamers, has been excellent. Blessing Muzarabani is the team’s leading wicket-taker with 9 wickets and has been ably supported by Brad Evans, who has 8 against his name.

However, the slower bowlers, including Wellington Masakadza and Graeme Cremer, need to bowl better during the middle overs.

Zimbabwe Expected Playing 11

Brian Bennett, Tadiwanashe Marumani (WK), Ryan Burl, Sikandar Raza (C), Dion Myers, Tashinga Musekiwa, Tony Munyonga, Wellington Masakadza, Blessing Muzarabani, Graeme Cremer, Brad Evans

West Indies

The West Indies has been clinical in its performance throughout the group stages, winning all four games by a comfortable margin. As a result, they were among the first teams to qualify for the Super 8 stage.
Skipper Shai Hope has led the team from the front, scoring two half-centuries, and is the leading run-scorer for the team so far.

He will look to give the team a strong start as he joins Brandon King in the opening slot. The West Indies boasts of a strong middle order where Shimron Hetmeyer and Sherfane Rutherford have played a couple of excellent knocks to help the team post big scores. They will be joined by Rovman Powell, Roston Chase, and Jason Holder, who add depth to the batting.

Holder has been excellent with the ball as well, picking up 7 wickets, and is the team’s joint-highest wicket-taker with Shamar Joseph. The duo will be joined by Matthew Forde in the pace department. The spin attack consists of Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie, who have picked up 9 wickets between them.

West Indies Expected Playing 11

Brandon King, Shai Hope (C & WK), Roston Chase, Rovman Powell, Sherfane Rutherford, Shimron Hetmeyer, Jason Holder, Matthew Forde, Shamar Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Akeal Hosein

ZIM vs WI Toss Prediction

In five of the six matches played here in this tournament, the team winning the toss opted to field first, and we expect that trend to continue.

Pitch Report and Weather Conditions

The pitch at the Wankhede Stadium has been balanced during this World Cup and has seen an average first-inning score of around 162. The new ball will see some seam movement, and the batsmen need to settle down before they can play the big shots.

The boundaries here aren’t the longest, and the outfield is pretty quick as well. The surface does tend to get a bit tacky, and the spinners who pitch the ball in the right areas will be able to get some turn. While the weather is expected to remain clear, we can expect some dew during the second half of the match.

ZIM vs WI : Who Will Win?

Both teams have played some excellent cricket so far, and we can expect a close contest between them in this match. We feel that the West Indies has a slight edge in this contest, as they have a strong batting line-up that has plenty of depth and a well-balanced bowling attack.

Bet on West Indies to win.
