RCB vs CSK Betting Tips
Highest opening partnership — Royal Challengers Bangalore
Phil Salt and Virat Kohli have developed into one of the most prolific and destructive opening partnerships in IPL history. Together they have scored an incredible aggregate of 645 runs at an average of over 46. With both batters in outstanding touch, backing them to out-score any opening pair in this match is a well-supported, high-confidence bet.
Virat Kohli to score over 32.5 runs
Kohli is in the form of his life. He has scored 33 or more runs in 8 of his last 9 IPL innings, including 6 half-centuries. He carries an average of over 38 specifically against CSK and has hit a half-century in each of his last 3 innings at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. On his home ground, against a struggling CSK bowling attack, backing Kohli to perform is an easy option.

RCB vs CSK Team Previews
Royal Challengers Bengaluru
The defending IPL champions have picked up exactly where they left off last season. RCB opened their IPL 2026 campaign with a dominant victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad and will be full of confidence heading into this home clash against CSK.
The engine room of this RCB team is their extraordinary opening partnership. Virat Kohli was in sensational form in the season opener, smashing 69 runs off just 38 balls in a masterclass of controlled aggression. Alongside the explosive Phil Salt, this opening duo has the ability to completely destroy opposition bowling attacks in the powerplay and set up match-winning totals before the middle order even comes to the crease.
The middle order provides formidable depth with Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar, and wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma all capable of significant contributions, while the death-overs firepower of Tim David and Romario Shepherd makes RCB one of the most dangerous batting lineups in the final five overs of any innings.
The bowling is equally well-equipped, with Jacob Duffy and Bhuvneshwar Kumar leading a disciplined pace attack and the spin duo of Suyash Sharma and Krunal Pandya providing excellent variety through the middle overs.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru Expected Playing 11
Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, Jitesh Sharma (WK), Rajat Patidar (C), Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Abhinandan Singh, Jacob Duffy, Suyash Sharma.
Impact player: Devdutt Padikkal / Jacob Bethell

Chennai Super Kings
This has been a deeply disappointing start to IPL 2026 for the Chennai Super Kings. Two games played, two defeats — and more worryingly, very few signs that the team has found the answers to the problems that are clearly holding them back.
The batting has been the most alarming area of concern. Senior openers Sanju Samson and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad have consistently failed to provide the solid platform that CSK desperately need at the top of the order. Without a strong powerplay foundation, the middle order is always playing catch-up.
To their credit, Ayush Mhatre, Sarfaraz Khan, and Shivam Dube all batted with purpose in the last match, but their efforts ultimately came in a losing cause. New additions Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma are yet to make any meaningful impression at this level.
The bowling has been equally worrying. Khaleel Ahmed, Noor Ahmad, and Rahul Chahar have all gone wicketless across two matches — a stat that should send alarm bells ringing in the CSK camp.
Only Anshul Kamboj and Matt Henry have managed to take wickets, though both have been expensive at times.
Chennai Super Kings Expected Playing 11
Sanju Samson (WK), Ruturaj Gaikwad (C), Ayush Mhatre, Sarfaraz Khan, Shivam Dube, Kartik Sharma, Prashant Veer, Noor Ahmad, Anshul Kamboj, Matt Henry, Khaleel Ahmed.
Impact player: Matthew Short / Jamie Overton
RCB vs CSK Toss Prediction
The toss at the Chinnaswamy Stadium is historically straightforward and consistent. In each of the last 10 IPL matches played at this ground, the captain winning the toss has chosen to bowl first. With the pitch expected to get better to bat on as the game progresses and dew potentially assisting the chasing side in the second innings, we fully expect both captains to want to field first if they win the coin toss on Sunday.
Pitch Report and Weather Conditions
The M Chinnaswamy Stadium surface is expected to be an excellent batting track. The pitch carries an even covering of grass that provides true pace and consistent bounce, giving batters the confidence to play their shots freely from ball one. Bowlers will need to be extremely precise with their line and length, as even the slightest error will be punished heavily on this surface.
The team batting first should target a minimum of 200 runs to be truly competitive. The surface traditionally improves as the match goes on, making chasing easier as the evening progresses — further reinforcing the value of bowling first after winning the toss.
Weather conditions will be overcast throughout the day, with some light drizzle possible.
RCB vs CSK : Who Will Win?
The defending champions, RCB, are playing with tremendous confidence and form, their batting is firing at the top and throughout the order, and they have the home advantage of the Chinnaswamy crowd fully behind them.
Until CSK can solve the fundamental problems at the top of their batting order and get their frontline bowlers taking wickets, backing them against an in-form RCB side on their own ground is extremely difficult to justify.
Bet on Royal Challengers Bengaluru to win.
